Finnebrogue commits at least 3 per cent of profits to good causes

The Denis Lynn Foundation is Finnebrogue’s charitable trust. We donate at least three per cent of our profits every year to good causes at home and abroad.

We have set up the Denis Lynn Foundation to continue the great work Denis did before his passing. We will commit at least three per cent of our profits every year to the Foundation, which will in turn support charities that are working to alleviate poverty, improve the life chances of disadvantaged young people and protect the environment.

Our partner charities in 2023 include Children in Northern Ireland, where we are helping to alleviate hunger during school holidays; One Equine, which is using horse therapy to support children with learning difficulties; and Clean up the Quoile, which is seeking to restore the River Quoile to its rightful status as Downpatrick’s finest natural asset.

Early next year, our Finnebrogue family will have the opportunity to suggest charities and causes to support in 2024/25.

The Good Little Company (GLC) will continue to be the primary beneficiary of the Denis Lynn Foundation’s donations. The GLC’s work with the Mulanje Mission Hospital in Malawi has already produced some extraordinary results; helping to all but eradicate infant malaria deaths, educating and caring for 500 orphans, training hundreds of farmers in sustainable agriculture techniques, and so much more.

In March of this year, a Finnebrogue party comprising Denis’s daughters Tara and Ciara, our chief strategy officer Jago, our GLC coordinators John and Vera, as well as our videographer Nathan, visited our friends at the Mulanje Mission Hospital, Finnebrogue’s first such visit since Denis and his widow Christine were last there in 2019.

We have issued a series of videos which bring to life the work we are doing on orphan care, agriculture, malaria, education, teenage pregnancy, to name just a few areas.

We hope these videos will give you a sense of the positive impact we are making in the poorest peaceful country on Earth.
