Since the publication of its Sustainability Audit last year, Finnebrogue has been continually reviewing how it can become even more greener and leaner.
As part of that journey, the business commissioned Viltra to design the largest chemical separation treatment unit of its kind in Northern Ireland. This is the only unit in the region to be integrated with a de-sludge thickening section.
Representatives from Viltra were on site this week with Richard Barnes, Finnebrogue’s Group Health, Safety & Environment Manager. They demonstrated to the facilities team and representatives from Northern Ireland Water Trade Effluent Compliance and Investigation Team, how this “world class” energy efficient technology will improve discharge quality on-site, and thus enable NI Water resources to be better directed.
The results achieved could support the addition of 600 new homes to the NI Water local network.
