Doing what is right for people and planet is integral to everything we do at Finnebrogue – from the processes we implement to the food we produce. It outlines our commitment to produce food that doesn’t cost the Earth; to build a healthy, diverse and inclusive Finnebrogue family; and to do good for our community at home and abroad.
This week we learned more about waste and encouraged everyone to be part of the solution, not the pollution! ‘Guess the number of cans’ competition was a big hit with a visual reminder of just how much aluminium we discard to the recycle bin every week.
Did you know that carbon emissions from your daily commute form part of your employer’s total carbon emissions?
Our employees didn’t know this, but welcomed the opportunity to offset some carbon emissions on our turbo cycle trainer, where they cycled Finnebrogue’s modal average commute of 2.6km. Everyone was also reminded of Finnebrogue’s electric car and cycle to work schemes.
We focused on energy and water consumption mid-week and encouraged everyone to do the Earth a favour and be a power saver! We were able to view live, the levels consumption across across our sites.
A central pillar of our Bigger Picture programme is reducing the environmental impact of the food we produce here at Finnebrogue and that includes using sustainably sourced ingredients.
