At Finnebrogue, we believe that every step towards sustainability makes a difference.
That’s why we’re thrilled to share our latest initiative in collaboration with Eco Seeds, a local seed provider based in Strangford, County Down.
Together, we’ve transformed a 4000m² area at our vegetarian site (OTB) into a flourishing habitat of native wildgrasses. These brush-harvested grasses are more than just greenery—they’re a lifeline for local ecology.
This new wildgrass meadow isn’t just about beautifying the landscape. It plays a crucial role in supporting local wildlife, offering shelter and habitat for pollinators and other species that are essential to our ecosystem.
With one-third of wild bee species in Ireland facing the threat of extinction, initiatives like this are more important than ever. That’s why we’re proud to be a part of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan, joining forces with businesses, schools, and councils across the country to take meaningful, evidence-based actions that promote and conserve biodiversity.
This is just one part of our Bigger Picture Journey—our commitment to doing what’s right for people and the planet. By nurturing these wildgrass habitats, we’re taking tangible steps to protect our environment and ensure a sustainable future for all. Join us in making a difference—one seed at a time.
