SCHOOL SPORTS DAY WINNERS – ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET, GO!

Children cheering at Killyleagh Integrated Primary School with Tara Lynn, Finnebrogue.

Pupils, parents and teaching staff at three primary schools in Northern Ireland received a surprise visit from the Finnebrogue Food Truck in June. The children had participated in a competition organised by Finnebrogue, the Downpatrick-based UK food producer, to design a healthy meal featuring Finnebrogue sausages or burgers.

The colourful salads and vibrant vegetables helped them stand out from all other entries.

Finnebrogue judges say they found the job of picking just one competition winner really difficult as the calibre of entries was so high, so they picked three!

Killyleagh Integrated Primary School were the overall winners and jumped for joy when the Finnebrogue team arrived for their school sports day on 24th June. We surprised the children at St Patrick’s Primary School, Legamaddy at their P7 Leavers Day on Friday 21st June, and had a wonderful welcome from St. Bernard’s Primary School, Belfast on the 27th June.

After completing their sprints, long jumps, and egg-and-spoon races at sports day, the children enjoyed refuelling with Finnebrogue hotdogs in the shining sun. We served up #glutenfree Finnebrogue Naked Pork Sausages, which everyone enjoyed!

Thanks to all the children who took time to enter the competition and we are sorry your entry wasnt selected.

The good news is, we will be running the competition again in 2025, so follow our social pages for more information! Instagram | Facebook | Finnebrogue Community
