Heritage

At Finnebrogue we have been making artisan food for over a decade on the historic Finnebrogue Estate outside Downpatrick. Nestled amongst the rolling hills and ancient woodland, we are bound to the land and the guiding principles of craftsmanship and passion for great food. Whether it be world famous, chef’s choice Oisin venison or award winning organic sausages, our dedication to excellence helped us grow to become a respected player in the UK food industry.

Purpose

We love food! We believe that great food should be heralded and shared by all! We will only make food that excites and inspires us and that we know our customers will enjoy eating. Not only that, we want food to mean something and to say to our customers something about what we and they stand for. That’s why we’ve built our business on crafting Artisan food that makes a difference.

Making a Difference to Farmers & Animals

Being farmers ourselves, we know that having a strong connection to the land is key to great ingredients and food. We take our roles as steward of the land very seriously and have a strong commitment to sustainability. Whether it is through planting 6000 native trees to promote biodiversity on our farm or through guaranteeing a fair price to our venison farmers, we strive to ensure that we protect farming for the future. We also appreciate that happy animals make great food and that they deserve a good life. That's why we're one of the UK's largest buyers of Outdoor Bred, Free Range and Organic pork.

What excites all of us at Finnebrogue is doing a great job. The team is made up of like-minded ambitious foodies who bring a unique set of innovative and technical skills to our processing. This approach is not only reflected in our products but also in the impact we have on the world around us. Working with our local community through our membership of Business in the Community ensures we support and develop the communities in which the factory is based and our staff live. And yet this reaches further, as we strive to ensure that our factory in Downpatrick has as little an impact on the global environment as we can achieve. We are committed to reducing waste, using sustainable ingredients and Forestry Stewardship Council approved supplies and renewable energy as core elements of our environmental management strategy.
